Outdoor Learning Environment
Our large, ever evolving outdoor learning environment is an amazing place to be, allowing us to be in tune with nature. It is always changing, creating a sense of wonder for the children which encourages them to be active, creative and enthusiastic learners. It is divided into 3 areas;
The Eco Garden
Which is very fruitful and helps supply some of the delicious produce for our amazing home cooked meals. The children are involved in every step from deciding what to plant, caring for the plants, harvesting the produce and, of course, being chief tasters.
The Willow Garden
This is mainly the under 3’s garden where they have opportunities to explore with their senses and their naturally curious minds. There are herbs, wild flowers, a willow den, a tyre tunnel, stepping stones, a large grass area, sand pit and a gazebo at the moment. We have exciting development plans coming within the next year so watch this space.
The Woodland Garden
Our Woodland Garden is a wonderful space that provides us with fantastic natural learning resources. It embraces children’s natural curiosity and encourages exploration and investigation. We are very fortunate to have magical woods that include Cheery Trees, Scots Pine, young Oak Trees and a couple of Time Trees all providing experiences of climbing, den building, colours, shapes, tasting as well as many more. We also have a music area, slack line, mud kitchen, social spaces, sand pit, herbaceous border and our dandelion bug hotel.
